Saleem Qureshi at HireLabs Inc.

I was creating a report for our board meeting on how our company has fared in the global recession. To my amazement, I found the following information about our recruitment and staffing process for our clients:

January 2008 - April 2008
1. Number of jobs/positions we were asked to recruit for each month = 35
2. Average number of resumes that we received per job = 125
3. Quality candidates that we could send forward to our clients = 15%

May 2008 - June 2009
1. Number of jobs/positions we were asked to recruit for each month = 29
2. Average number of resumes that we received per job = 354
3. Quality candidates that we could send forward to our clients = 1.2%

The biggest challenge is in the screening process. Although we are able to save 10 hours for every 100 resumes using our online testing and assessments tool, the odds of finding talent is becoming slim in today's environment
